Bowen’s had some things come up suddenly and it’s dramatically changed his availability to fulfill the role of head mod. As odd as it may be, we’re having another switch of the head mod position in a very short period of time since the last one. BloodySmile has been an active and senior member of the mod staff, so he’s been selected to be the head mod replacing Bowen.

Eol Switch

Eol Advanced is going down tonight. In its place, SlickPony’s Eol is going to go up for 2 days. SP’s Eol is going to be up until Wednesday night and then we’re going to have our global rotation at that time. So try his Eol out again for a couple days and please provide feedback.

Infantry Facebook Advertising

Infantry’s major problem has always been lack of exposure, since SOE does not spend any money on marketing the product (reasonable, since it doesn’t generate revenue). There are many games out there that are more dated, and far less enjoyable than Infantry, but enjoy a greater population simply because of effective advertising.

For a couple months now, Laboratory Monkey has been advertising Infantry on Facebook, and we’ve seen some positive results from that, but LM is just one person and it doesn’t appear that his contribution is significant enough to make a big impact. We’d like to expand the campaign and get the ad more coverage on Facebook, but we require funds in order to do that.

If you’re in a position where you’ve got disposable income and you wouldn’t mind donating some money towards the campaign, you may use the donate button on the right side of this site to make a contribution. LM is charged once a month for the ads, so if you’d like to be part of a continued effort, you could, for instance, donate $20 a month or whatever amount you’re comfortable with. USL Website

The USL website at www.uslzone.com has been down since yesterday. The league admins are uncertain as to why the hosting was suspended, but are getting in touch with the webmasters to resolve the issue. Also, to clarify something for USL players: I used to handle the USL hosting, but haven’t since October 2009. It’s currently handled by Flaw and choc.

Update: appears to be up now.
