Dear Infantrinians, our planet is dying. Whoops, wrong speech. I’d like to share the response to the proposal with you, as promised. The PS3 option is not going to happen. So the players who were losing sleep wondering how they’re going to keep up their rate of trolling and flaming using a controller, do not need to worry about that. The idea of a donation system was shot down due to legal issues. The idea of inviting a community programmer shared the same fate, for the same reason. SOE will be looking at improving the communication so that system reboots can occur in a more timely manner. So that is how the proposal was received.
Despite that, SOE would like to continue officially supporting Infantry. They would like to get a patch in without community funding. I’m not sure exactly when this will happen, but they understand the urgency of the matter and will hopefully move as quickly as the bureaucratic engine allows them. I’m sorry I couldn’t say that tomorrow the game is being patched, but this is pretty decent as long as it happens fairly soon.

Thanks for the effort MP!! I wonder why they continue to support infantry yet don’t do anything with the game and still don’t let the community get more involved. Good charity is not usually an attribute that follows big corporations (future p2p anyone?)

Good job hackers, you’ve destroyed yourself here. i just hope they are able to keep patching the game, so the hackers will give up :). This should of been done long time ago. good going mp. even if infantry is down for a month, and its\ comes up hack free and stable, Im sure our population will grow.

Here let me professionalize to what i just said. Most mods do not act like they do when u are around. But when ur around they do their job and behave. Mods are suppose to be mature when other miss behave, not act like children and flame others or hold grudges. Because of our Moderators behaviors it caused our population to decrees and our hackers to increase. I personally believe because our Mods have gotten into everyone’s bad side it has effected infantry. I would not see any other reason why hackers would do something like this because everything else has been in order and in place. MP u have been doin a good job holding infantry up and respecting players (im even sayin this but yet when i needed help in something that u should of known something about of it and u didnt help me (USL forums)(why is USL and SL bans connected) but yet u never figured out that when ppl suck up to you they are a type of a person that is not Trust worthy or will ever handle the responsibility of a moderate. Because all there tryin to do is be ur friend so u can gain a little trust with them and think they can handle the job For example KP just became an moderate and he is doin a fine job doin it, He keeps it professional always has even when he wasn’t an mod (and Templar), everyone els that u have as an mod i do have an prob with because iv seen them flame other players and i have been flamed by them (and for what tryin to understand something i didnt know or specifically tryin to understand a rule u guys have that i didnt agree with but what do i get ” o stfu i dont have time or o ur stupid (when in fact they never even explained it to me and they talk shit like that) thos are just some of my experiences, im sure others have theirs). All im sayin MP is that u really need to know who u are putting in ur staff not just ppl that u cyber with (amy) that just suck up to u and cant even do the job professionally to make infantry look good.

Although only from observation i’d say that the infantry population is pretty much steady. There may be slight increases or decreases but nothing of note (Since FI merged that is). If we get this patch done from Sony then will there be advertising to aide population growth?
I don’t really see the point of any of this without it to be honest. We’ll get a patch and sooner or later someone will find a way around it and we will require a new patch.
I’m sure Sony understand the situation but in all honesty with such a small population it isn’t the end of the world to them and i suspect their speed would reflect this.
Lastly, what exacty have SOE been doing to support infantry up to now? It has been almost 10 years and they removed the programmers leaving the artist (Yankee) in charge and we haven’t had anything since. When was the last date Infantry was ever advertised? When was the last time there was a Sony ran Event?

Ya your right carn, when this patch is done hackers WILL find a way around it and start this crisis all over again, I’ve proberly been playing 5-6 years and I’d hate for Infantry to close down, when i first joined it was like 30+ people in CTF/SK/EOL/CM/CQ, etc etc even BH had players in most days! What killed Infantry after?

By patch I assume that they mean apply updates to the security of the game to resolve current issues as oppose to any actual game/engine updates?
