Soccer Brawl League Entrance Tournament

Soccer Brawl League Entrance Tournament will be held on Sunday, January 25th.
Soccer Brawl League(SBL) most notable change during this offseason is long time admin and head of the league Rien/Hundin has stepped down and turned over the league to Staley, Delcor and Bronco. SBL has also implemented a new system of rewarding referees and video reporters. Through voluntary donations from the player base, a monetary reward will be given to the three referees with the most matches refereed and also to the top two media reporters and top two written reporters.
This season in SBL features a number returning squads, including 2x defending champs Nation of Domination!, Incredible, Pro Seks, and Death Row(formerly WTF-) who are all looking for a playoff berth this season. Some other squads that will be competing in this season are Backlash, captained by Rockmono that has migrated to SBL from IGBL, NEWTS, a former championship competitor that has been remade this season by R, the Gardeners, a new squad that many consider to be championship favorites this season, British National Party, captained by the great Tom, who put a new spin on recruiting and is made up of only british infantry players, and Deflect, a new squad captained by Splint, composed mostly of new players from CTFPL and the skirmish leagues. This will be SBL’s eleventh season and should be one of the most competitive to date.
This upcoming season will have 12 squads, the most SBL has ever had. SBL is unique in comparison to most other leagues in that all of the weekday scrims that league squads hold are in the public zone, so many pub players unfamiliar with leagues and players from other zones can familiarize themselves with the style of play in the league. Because of this close affiliation between the pub zone and leagues, the majority of the players in pub are at least familiar with the league, if not a participant in it, allowing for more competitive games than other public zones. This also allows for a smoother transition for pub players into the league, as they are already acquainted with the majority of the league players through pub, as opposed to CTFPL, SL, and USL, where the vast majority of the more skilled players only log on during sundays to play in the league matches.
One of the most exciting things about the upcoming SBL season is the level of competitiveness. Players that started in the league 2 or 3 seasons ago have really started to come into their own and should be able to challenge the “veteran” squads and cause some upsets that always make for a more fun season.
SBL be holding the preseason Entrance Tournament this coming Sunday the 25th, and I encourage any new players interested in SBL to come watch and become acquainted with the league. An entrance tournament is held at the beginning of each season for old players and squads to shake off the rust between seasons, for new players and squads to get a taste for official match play, and, of course, for bragging rights to the winner.
Soccer Brawl Media is a relatively new but very cool addition to SBL. Vanishing records each match from spec and will either condense each match down to a highlight reel or simply post the entire match later on, often with commentary and announcing from other SBL players. Its an interesting and fun way to watch any matches you may have missed or just to rewatch the goal that you scored in the most recent match.
An important note to anyone interested in participating in the upcoming season, most squads are still recruiting and would welcome new talent from other zones interested in coming to the league. wtf!!!! how could you guys leave out my squad, Flips?? This is an outrage!! never trust bronco for reports. Also, Vanishing won’t be the only one recording matches as he obviously didn’t have enough time last season so I will be helping out making video reports too.
